This site is a tribute to Steve Robinson, who was born in Birmingham on June 30, 1958. He is much loved and will always be remembered.
My dad spent many times in neonatal units. He sold the incubators (and many other bits of equipment) in hospitals for all the premature, sick babies, teaching clinical staff within hospitals and he taught his own colleagues. He had a passion for neonates, wanting the best for those babies. When he used to talk to me about work, he was always so excited and I could see his eyes light up. He took me with him to units, I absolutely loved it. When I had my first nursing placement in neonates he was soooo happy for me. When I told him how much I loved it, he was even happier. Now, a qualified paediatric nurse working in a neonatal unit I am back at uni studying to qualify within the speciality. He was very proud of me for that. He was proud ofmy brother too for qualifying as a paramedic and we used to spend hours telling Kieran what to do if he was ever in a situation with a sick/prem baby. DRY IT AND PUT A HAT ON IT - his advice. He always said 'I only sold incubators' but he did much more than that. Dad doesn't want flowers at his funeral and so with national prematurity day coming up, we thought it was only right to ask people to donate to BLISS instead of the flowers they would have got for dad. There will be a charity box on the day, however I know some people aren't able to come and would still like to donate. So here you go.
Love you lots dad.
